We are looking for a Senior Warehouse Operator to join our client based in Wymondham, Norfolk.
As the Senior Warehouse Operator, you will be working on a site that specialises in the production of outbound and inbound document services. The site contains printing, mailing, and warehousing capabilities for outbound mail and postal and electronic receipts, as well as capture, validation, and document storage for inbound mail.
You will be responsible for the performance of your immediate team and area in terms of quality, throughput, and SLA delivery. This includes setting a positive tone and generating an open, trusting work environment.
Main Duties:
- Conducting performance reviews, managing holiday and sickness absences and overseeing health & safety within the team
- Participate in warehouse operations, fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets
- Ensure the delivery of materials to production lines following production schedules
- Support in training new Warehouse operatives within the area of responsibility
- Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately
- Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals
- Identify any improvements and make recommendations for change
- Resolve any issues or problems which occur with operational hours and where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level
- Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required
- Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards
- Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out per manual handling procedures
- Maintain high standards of security in the warehouse
- Ensure staff comply with health, safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment
- Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency
Required skills/experience:
- An appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous
- A supervisory qualification would also be beneficial
- Proven experience as a supervisor with experience in managing and motivating a team
- A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous
- Forklift Truck licence required
- Commitment to work towards professional accreditation with an industry-related body
The role works on an annualised hour shift pattern. The number of hours you work in one year will average out to 35 hours per week. There will be a requirement to work more than 11 shifts in any two-week period. You will be given a new plan every six months that will outline what shifts you will be required to work during that period.
Swing Shift Pattern:
Week 1 Mon-Fri 07:00 – 15:00
Week 2 Mon-Fri 15:00 – 23:00
(All shifts include 2 x 30-minute breaks daily)
