Print Finisher – Nights

We are looking for an experienced Print Finisher to join Paragon’s Dagenham site, working permanent night shifts in the Production Finishing department.

As a Print Finisher, you’ll operate a wide range of finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. The role requires strong technical knowledge of finishing processes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.

Hours: 42 hours per week on a rotating night shift pattern – 3-on, 2-off / 2-on, 3-off / 2-on, 2-off / 3-on, 3-off (18:00 – 06:00)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of finishing machinery, including:
    • Cutting & Trimming – Guillotines (Polar, Wohlenberg, or equivalent).
    • Folding – Stahlfolders, MBO, or similar.
    • Binding – Perfect binding, PUR binding, Saddle-stitching.
    • Laminating & Coating – Encapsulation and digital lamination machines.
    • Die-cutting, Creasing & Perforating – Cylinders or platen machines.
  • Check jobs against specifications and carry out quality checks throughout the process.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, on time, and ready for dispatch.
  • Assist with machine setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
  • Minimise waste through efficient material use and accurate setups.
  • Follow production schedules and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment in line with health and safety standards.
  • Support colleagues through cross-training and flexible working where required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Print Finisher in a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of finishing processes and machinery.
  • Excellent eye for detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage workloads under pressure.
  • Flexible, proactive, and a strong team player.

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
