Print Finisher

We are looking for an experienced Print Finisher to join Paragon’s Dagenham site, working in the Production Finishing department on a rotating day shift pattern.

As the Print Finisher, you’ll operate a wide range of finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. The role requires technical knowledge of finishing processes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy production environment.

Hours: 42 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern – 3-on, 2-off / 2-on, 3-off / 2-on, 2-off / 3-on, 3-off (06:00 – 18:00)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of finishing machinery, including:
    • Cutting & Trimming – Guillotines (Polar, Wohlenberg, or equivalent).
    • Folding – Stahlfolders, MBO, or similar.
    • Binding – Perfect binding, PUR binding, Saddle-stitching.
    • Laminating & Coating – Encapsulation and digital lamination machines.
    • Die-cutting, Creasing & Perforating – Cylinders or platen machines.
  • Check work against job specifications and carry out quality checks throughout the finishing process.
  • Ensure all jobs are completed accurately, on time, and ready for dispatch.
  • Assist with machine set-up, calibration, and routine maintenance.
  • Minimise waste by ensuring efficient use of materials and accurate setups.
  • Follow production schedules and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, complying with all health and safety standards.
  • Support colleagues through cross-training and flexible working when required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Print Finisher in a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of finishing processes and machinery.
  • Excellent eye for detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
  • Well organised with the ability to manage workloads under pressure.
  • Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented approach.

Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum, depending on experience
