We are looking for a skilled and motivated No.2 Litho Print Operator to join Paragon’s busy pressroom team based in Dagenham to work on the Night shift.
As the No. 2 Litho Print Operator, you will work alongside the No. 1 Operator and assist in the efficient operation of Heidelberg presses, producing high-quality print work across a range of substrates and specifications.
This role is ideal for someone with solid lithographic printing experience who is looking to further develop their technical expertise on world-class equipment in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Salary: £27,000 per annum, rising to £29,000 after successful completion of probation
Shift Pattern: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (6pm–6am): Sun, Mon and Tues x2, then Weds, Thurs and Fri x2 per month
Hours: 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Support the No.1 Operator in setting up and running:
- Heidelberg XL 106 6 Colour with Coater
- Heidelberg XL 106 10 Colour Perfector with CutStar
- Assist with plate changes, ink management, paper loading, and machine wash-ups.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the print run to ensure colour, registration, and finish meet client specifications.
- Monitor press performance and flag any issues to the No.1 Operator.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and downtime.
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to keep presses in top condition.
- Uphold health and safety standards in the pressroom at all times.
- Work effectively as part of the press team to achieve production targets and deadlines.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working as a No.2 Printer / Print Assistant in a lithographic pressroom environment.
- Competent on Heidelberg XL 106 (6-colour and/or 10-colour with CutStar).
- Additional experience on CD 102 or KBA 106 Rapida is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of colour control, registration, and print quality standards.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts as part of a fixed rota.
- A team player with good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn new skills and progress.
