We are looking for Digital Print Operators to join our client, a leading business communications company based in Dagenham.
As the Digital Print Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining digital printing equipment to produce a wide range of printed materials. This role requires technical proficiency in handling digital printers, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot issues to ensure the final product meets the quality standards set by the company and client specifications.
Main responsibilities:
Operation of Digital Printing Equipment:
- Set up and operate various digital printers (e.g., large format printers, digital presses) to produce print jobs as per work orders.
- Load and adjust media, including paper, vinyl, reels and other substrates, as required for specific jobs.
- Monitor print jobs for quality and consistency of colour, resolution, and alignment as necessary.
File Management:
- Prepare digital files for printing, ensuring they meet the required specifications (size, resolution).
- Impose files as required (if applicable) for the next production process using the printer RIP software.
Quality Control:
- Inspect and verify the quality of printed materials during and after production to ensure accuracy, colour consistency and adherence to client specifications.
- Complete relevant QC forms as required.
- Identify and resolve any print defects, including colour inconsistencies, banding, or misalignment.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on digital printing equipment, such as cleaning printheads, replacing inks, and calibrating machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor and coordinate repairs as needed.
Required skills/experience:
- At least 3 years of current experience in a Digital Print Operator role
- Proficiency with digital printing software
- Understanding of colour theory, printing processes, and file preparation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on digital printing equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capability to lift and move materials.
- Manual dexterity to operate machinery and handle small components.
Shifts: 12-hour day/night rotating shift pattern (one week of Day shift/week off /one week of Night shift/ week off and then back to day shift.
