Digital Finishing Operator – Nights

We are looking for a Digital Finishing Operator to join Paragon’s Dagenham site, working permanent night shifts in the Production Finishing department.

As the Digital Finishing Operator, you’ll operate a range of finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all jobs are completed to specification, on time, and to the highest standards, working as part of a fast-paced production team. This role requires technical knowledge of finishing processes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Hours: 42 hours per week on a rotating night shift pattern: 3-on, 2-off / 2-on, 3-off / 2-on, 2-off / 3-on, 3-off (18:00 – 06:00)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of finishing equipment, including cutters, folders, laminators, and binders.
  • Ensure all jobs are completed to the correct specification, quality checked, and dispatched on time.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and consistency in all output.
  • Prepare materials and set up machines to support workflow efficiency.
  • Report and escalate machine issues promptly and assist with routine maintenance.
  • Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to prioritise workloads and meet production schedules.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
  • Contribute to reducing waste and errors by following company processes.
  • Support cross-training within the department to build flexibility and team skills.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in print finishing or production (digital print experience preferred).
  • Hands-on knowledge of finishing equipment such as guillotines, laminators, folders, and binders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
