We are looking for a Digital Finishing Manager to join Paragon’s Dagenham site, leading the day-to-day operations of the Production Finishing department.
As the Digital Finishing Manager, you’ll oversee a team of operators in a fast-paced print production environment, ensuring high-quality output and efficient workflows. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge of finishing processes, excellent people management skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time site-based.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, support, and motivate the finishing team to achieve production targets and quality standards.
- Manage staff rotas, holiday, and sickness records via MSS.
- Encourage cross-training and skill development across the department.
- Production & Quality Control
- Monitor workflows to ensure jobs are delivered on time, in full, and to the highest standard.
- Enforce quality checks, waste reduction measures, and operational processes.
- Act as the escalation point for production or quality issues.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures.
- Maintain training records and escalate training needs where necessary.
- Implement safety improvements across the department.
- Operational Excellence
- Drive efficiency across processes to maximise productivity and reduce downtime.
- Oversee scheduling of machine maintenance and servicing.
- Record and report on productivity improvements and workflow enhancements.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with Planning to support accurate scheduling and progress updates.
- Attend production meetings to represent the finishing department.
- Collaborate with other managers to deliver seamless, end-to-end client service.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a digital finishing or print production management role.
- Strong knowledge of finishing processes (cutting, folding, binding, laminating, enclosing).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Understanding of workflow optimisation and quality assurance.
- Organised and solutions-focused, with a drive for continuous improvement.
