We are looking for a Credit Controller to join Paragon on a 12-month fixed-term maternity contract, working remotely within the UK.
As the Credit Controller, you will be working with a supportive finance team, taking ownership of a customer portfolio within a busy credit control function.
You will be responsible for managing debt collection across an allocated ledger, building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely payment, resolution of queries, and accurate maintenance of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively chase outstanding payments using all available tools and systems
- Review and pull weekly ledgers from the accounting system
- Record detailed chasing notes for all customer communication
- Raise and manage disputes with Sales and Client Services, monitoring through to resolution
- Work closely with Operations and Sales Managers on all credit and collections matters
- Block accounts in line with process and escalate where required with appropriate approvals
- Issue copy invoices and supporting documentation promptly
- Complete internal and external account reconciliations as required
- Provide accurate guidance on cash allocations and minimise unallocated funds
- Process journals and allocations where remittances are not received
- Produce reports and management information as needed
- Maintain customer database updates, including legal entity and address changes
- Attend internal and external meetings when required
- Keep up to date with all relevant systems and complete required training
- Occasional travel to other Paragon sites may be required
- Support the wider credit control team with any other reasonable duties
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience within credit control or accounts receivable
- Confident communicator with strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage a busy ledger and prioritise effectively
- Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Experience using accounting systems and Microsoft Office
- Professional, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
Please note that this is a 12-month contract; you must be based in the UK to be considered as occasional travel to Paragon offices may be required.
