Our client, a leading communications company is looking for a Business Development Manager, with experience of selling print to join their team.
The client site is based in Sheffield, but this role can be offered on a remote basis – however you must be located within 100 miles of Sheffield and be happy to travel to the site when required.
As the Business Development Manager, your main role will be to identify and convert new business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability, and support the business’s growth. This will primarily involve researching, prospecting, and securing contracts with “Ideal Clients” for the business’s core service lines: commercial print, web-to-print, warehouse, and fulfilment services.
Main Duties:
- Ensure revenue and profitability targets are achieved against budget through business development activities.
- Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services, as well as innovative ways to reach existing markets.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and social media engagement.
- Secure revenue and growth by employing solution-selling techniques and a thorough understanding of client needs, objectives, and obstacles.
- Create and maintain a sales pipeline targeting customers that align with a defined ‘Ideal Client’ profile.
- Maximise revenue opportunities by cross-selling the business’s extensive service portfolio.
- Maintain up-to-date records of prospects, contacts, activities, and opportunities using the CRM system.
- Safeguard revenue and drive growth by negotiating and securing Key Account contracts.
- Build strong and positive relationships with clients across various departments and seniority levels.
- Deliver sales and KPI presentations, online demonstrations, and training sessions to customers and prospects as required.
Required skills:
- Previous experience selling commercial print, web-to-print, warehouse, and fulfilment services
- Previous experience selling both commodity products and solutions led sales
- A proven track record of securing contracts and achieving targets
- Previous experience in prospecting and generating leads from cold contacts
- Previous experience working as part of a team contributing to business success
- Previous experience working on own initiative to reach goals
This role is based in Rotherham, Sheffield. The hours are Monday to Friday – 8:30am – 5:00pm and you have an option to work a hybrid model (3 days in the office, 2 working from home) or remote, with travel to the site when required.
Salary – up to £55,000 + Car/Allowance + Uncapped Commission + Bonus Structure
