We’re back at it again with another exciting addition to our Meet the Team series. This blog series is a great opportunity for you to get to know a bit more about our consultants, their desks and the types of roles they recruit for.
This time we sat down with Natalie Mayo, who recently joined Devonshire as one of our IT & Development and Business Support consultants.
Tell us a bit about yourself, what do you do at Devonshire?
I recruit for permanent IT & Development and Business Support professionals. I joined the Devonshire team in October and have been working remotely ever since. I have been in recruitment for over five years mainly in the healthcare, charity and automotive industries, as well as recruiting for IT, operations and apprenticeship roles.
Explain a bit more about your desk/sector and the types of roles you recruit for?
I lead the IT & Development desk and recruit for roles from junior to director level, so this could be anything from a Service Desk Analyst to an Infrastructure Operations Manager.
In your opinion, what makes a candidate in your sector stand out from the crowd?
I would say good work experience is great for your CV to stand out as well as strong, developed technical skills.
What advice would you give to people wanting to get into your sector/progress in similar roles that you recruit for?
I think it’s really good to regularly update your LinkedIn and job board profiles plus your CV to show your full skill set. This could include any skills or training that you have developed during your career. This is really helpful for recruiters when they are searching for potential candidates for roles as they can clearly see what technical skills and experience you have which could be a good match for any roles they are working on.
How have your first few of weeks been at Devonshire?
What can I say… It’s been quite a challenging but good few weeks at Devonshire. This is my first role working from home full time and I’m loving it! You really notice the difference not having to commute every day.

Finally, what’s your favourite motto/quote?
I think my favourite has to be ‘YOLO’ (you only live once).
